About Solang Valley
Solang Valley is India's most accessible ski hill, a short drive up the Kullu Valley from Manali. It is small. Two blue pistes off the top of the Poma gondola, a platter lift on the nursery slope at the base, and that is the lot. What it lacks in terrain it makes up for in setting, with Hanuman Tibba and Friendship Peak over a valley floor full of rental shacks, instructors and paragliders. The snow window is short and fickle, roughly late December through February, so check conditions before you commit. Most people here are learning, and Solang is a good place to do it.
